Knife Rights has donated Freedom’s Sporting Steel, a custom knife collaboration, to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation in support of America’s sporting heritage and freedoms. . Freedom’s Sporting Steel was conceived of, and sponsored by, Knife Rights expressly to benefit CSF. Freedom’s Sporting Steel was auctioned for $1,800 at the CSF Annual Banquet and Dinner on September 19, 2012, in Washington, DC.

BLADE Magazine Cutlery Hall of Fame member D’Alton Holder has hand-crafted a unique example of the functional knifemaker’s art that would satisfy a sportsmen’s desires in the field or on display. The drop-point blade of forged Chad Nichols 200-layer “Scrambled” pattern stainless Damascus steel is designed to be a perfect hunter’s companion. The mix of AEB-L and 304 stainless steels requires minimal care and the fine grained structure ensures a keen edge. The knife features hidden tang construction with the stainless bolster finely engraved with a bison motif by master engraver Bruce Christensen. The handle is comprised of violet box elder burl and fossilized walrus ivory. Included is a hallmark D’Holder Fancy Sheath with Oosic Concho, as well as a D’holder Padded Pouch. The Brookfield display case is constructed of fine-grained walnut and features double-sided glass engraved with the Knife Rights logo.

CSF’s mission is to work with Congress, governors, and state legislatures to protect and advance hunting, recreational shooting, fishing and trapping. CSF is the leader in providing access and a voice for sportsmen with elected officials, land and wildlife management agencies, non-governmental organizations and sportsmen allied groups.
